The papaya is the fruit of the plant Carica papaya. It is believed to be native to southern Mexico and neighboring central America. It is now present in every tropical and subtropical country like the Philippines.
Not only calcium and iron, the papaya fruit is packed with so much nutritional value like Vitamins A and B. It is also an excellent source of Vitamin C. The parts of the papaya plant is used in many folkloric treatments for cystitis, acne, rheumatic complaints, promotion of menstruation, stomach troubles and worm infestation, among others.
To me, I used the green papaya leaves to soften my hands. I just have 2 bunches of green papaya leaves mixed with rock salt. Then I squeeze the mixture with my hands until it juices and wipe it on my palms until it feels soft. You can try it but don't overdo it. Sometimes, too much will pain your palms.
